Substance Abuse Services Program Manager

Job Description

 POSITION SUMMARY:
Working under the direction of the Regional Director, the Substance Abuse Services Program Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and service provision of substance abuse services for children and adolescents who are enrolled with Pantano in Santa Cruz and Cochise Counties. Program is to be developed using the ADHA Best Practice Protocol.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Working with the Regional Director and Clinical Supervisors, develop substance abuse services policies and procedures based on best practice models.
•Performs screening and substance abuse assessments of enrolled children and adolescents with substance abuse disorders as requested.
•Performs initial intake of adolescents referred by the courts for substance abuse treatment.
•Works with the Child and Family Team in developing an individual service plan for each youth that is comprehensive and addresses the substance use, medical, psychiatric, psychological, social, vocational, and legal issues.
•Designs individual treatment services that address the unique cognitive, social, emotional, cultural, gender and developmental needs of each adolescent.
•Provide individual and group counseling services, case management and other clinical services as necessary.
•Refers clients to other providers for appropriate services coordinates with the other provides on an ongoing basis.
•Engages the family and/or other caregiver in the treatment of the youth whenever possible.
•Works closely with referring agencies or other providers in coordinating individual services.
•Organizes and participates in ongoing Child and Family Team meetings as necessary.
•Develops strategies to engage and keep youth in treatment.
•Attends and participates in team meetings and clinical staffing
•Trains program staff on issues related to substance abuse services.
•Performs community outreach and represents Pantano at various meetings when appropriate.
•Implements program improvements that address finds based on the evaluation process.
•Provides appropriate documentation and reporting of client service and ensures all necessary paperwork is completed in a timely fashion and in accordance with agency standards.
•May perform crisis intervention and solution-focused interventions.
•Participates in ongoing program planning and development.
•Works collaborative with all Pantano staff and Pantano partner agencies.
•Performs other related activities in accordance with agency growth and changes.


Skills/Requirements

 QUALIFICATIONS:
Education* and Experience:
•Masters Degree in behavioral health related field preferred (Licensed as an Independent Practitioner preferred).
•Trained and qualified in substance abuse treatment modality that is evidence based.
•Trained and qualified in administering and interpreting substance abuse assessments.
•Experience in treatment planning and maintenance of client records required.
•Knowledge of Arizona behavioral health system preferred.

General:
•Must have good verbal, written and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, visitors, and coworkers.
•Must have excellent writing and record-keeping skills.
•Must have excellent computer and word-processing skills.
•Must be able to prioritize and multi-task.
•Must be extremely well organized, structured, and capable of independent functioning.
•Valid Arizona’s driver license and the willingness to use personal vehicle in the course of employment. Must meet minimum requirements of company insurance carrier.
•Must be at least 21 years of age and able to obtain a Class I Fingerprint Card.
